Southwest Montgomery County Improvement District

Two E1488CA Executive Board members (Ann K Anderson and Kathy Sanders) have been appointed to the newly created Southwest Montgomery County Improvement District Board.

The E1488CA has been involved in the of the development and creation of  the District though public meetings and a survey.

Though the District has yet to be ratified by the voters, SMCID Board members continue to look for ways to address local issues through the District.

The E1488CA will work with the District to provide information to members about how the District can improve area quality of life and will take members’ issues and questions back to the SMCID Board to aid in the District’s plan development.

Quadvest: Member subdivisions Lake Windcrest and Sendera Ranch have taken the lead on this issue and continue to negotiate with Quadvest (who provide water for several member communities) about their proposed rate increases. We expect an update soon.

Sign Committee:

The Sign Committee, chaired by Cheryl Meyer, has virtually eliminated illegal bandit signs from the right-of-way of FM 1488. Both the City of Conroe and the City of Houston are making the removal of bandit signs a priority for the coming year. Cheryl continues to fight for the removal of other illegal signage along FM 1488.

Drainage Committee:

The Association has facilitated on-going meetings between member subdivisions and with Montgomery County representatives to discuss ways to improve drainage throughout the subdivisions.

Security Issues:

Association Directors have met with Constable Tim Holifield, Constable Matt Masden and Sheriff-elect Tommy Gage to discuss how to improve policing throughout member subdivisions. Members are looking into sharing constable services to increase on-site policing without increasing the financial burdens on smaller subdivisions.
